Advanced Cardiac Life Support courses (ACLS) - Recognition and Renewal Course
This program is intended for personnel staffing emergency, intensive care or critical care departments; emergency medical providers such as physicians, nurses, emergency technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists and other professionals who may need to respond to a cardiac emergency. Participants will learn to assess and manage the adult patient who experiences one of the ten core cases of ACLS; ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, respiratory emergencies, PEA, asystole, bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia, acute coronary syndromes and stroke.
HeartCode ACLS Anywhere
The official, self-directed CD-ROM ACLS learning program. HeartCode ACLS Anywhere allows you to complete the ACLS courseware and exams anytime, anywhere. After completing the CD-ROM on your own, you must complete a skills check at an ACLS course. The program will be offered as an option for participants in conjunction with courses held at Marshfield Clinic. Skills checks will take approximately 45 minutes.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS-EP) Experienced Provider Course
Is for seasoned ACLS providers who wish to renew their provider status. This course provides a stimulus for clinicians and scientists to identify areas in resuscitation that deal with special circumstances. Course Length: 9-10 hours. Intended Audience: Professionals, clinicians and scientists who must frequently respond to emergency cardiovascular and special resuscitation situations in the work environment. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Recognition and Renewal Course
This program is intended for Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, and Allied Health Professionals that deal with pediatric emergencies. In this course participants will learn how to reduce the risk of common causes of injury and arrest in children, recognize the signs of impending respiratory failure and shock and initiate appropriate treatment and interventions, stabilize and evaluate pediatric trauma victims including appropriate spinal immobilization and initiate and manage the first ten minutes of a child in cardiac arrest. The Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course
Offered by the American College of Surgeons for physicians who care for injured patients. The course objectives include:
•Assess the patient's condition rapidly and accurately
•Resuscitate and stabilize the patient according to priority
•Determine if the patient's needs exceed a facility's capabilities
•Arrange appropriately for the patient's definitive care
•Ensure that optimum care is provided
The two-day recognition course teaches medical core content in an interactive format with hands-on skills sessions in simulated trauma settings. In the one-day renewal course, physicians review core content overview, review triage scenarios, complete written and practical tests. Certification cycle for ATLS is every four years.
