Dr. Amit Biswas is a neurologist who treats complex conditions affecting the brain. He also is a specialist is treating sleep-related disorders.
Dr. Biswas treats patients who have sleep apnea, narcolepsy, excessive daytime sleepiness, insomnia, restless leg syndrome and sleepwalking. He conducts sleep studies, interprets EEGs and examines patients to determine their conditions and best courses of treatment. He is board certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology and sleep medicine.
His additional training in clinical neurophysiology allows him to be skilled at diagnosing neurological and sleep disorders. Dr. Biswas cares for patients with disorders headaches, back pain, seizures, muscle weakness, numbness, Parkinson's Disease, multiple sclerosis, dizziness and brain tumors.
He earned his medical degree at Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India. He completed a neurology residency at New Jersey Medical School in Newark and fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and sleep medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Columbia, Missouri. He also enjoys teaching residents and medical students and has an honorary faculty position with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison.
Dr. Biswas and his wife have two children, both boys. As a family, they like to travel, cook and play soccer. He's a big sports fan in general, playing in fantasy sports leagues throughout the year.
