Marshfield Clinic Neurosciences

The Neurosciences team at Marshfield Clinic includes specialists providing expert care for conditions of the nervous system.

Specifically, they treat the brain, spinal cord and networks of sensory nerve cells called neurons. 

Our board-certified, primarily fellowship-trained neurologists, neurosurgeons and neuro-psychologists provide expertise in treating every major neurological and neurobehavioral disorder.

We are a leader in offering new treatments to patients through clinical research trials. This research is studying some of the most debilitating diseases.

Neurologists provide a wide array of neurological services, including the latest advances in outpatient diagnostics and treatment, inpatient care and medical research.

Our neurologists located at several Marshfield Clinic centers provide treatment for disorders and diseases of the nervous system. 

They evaluate and treat a wide range of neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's can impact strength, balance, breathing and sense of smell. It can alter mental health, often causing anxiety and hallucinations. Our neurology, physical therapy and gastroenterology specialists – among others – come together to provide expert, comprehensive care all in one location.

Neurological Surgery

Neurological surgeons provide a full range of neurosurgical services, including the latest advances in functional neurological surgery, spine and Gamma Knife radiosurgery. 

Neurosurgeons and staff provide both adult and pediatric patients with:

  • Outpatient evaluation and management
  • Inpatient procedures and care
  • And emergency care


Neuro-oncologists diagnose and treat neurologic complications of cancer outside and inside the nervous system. 

Neuro-Oncology is a multidisciplinary service that includes neurologists, oncologists, neurosurgeons, neuro-radiologists and physicians from other disciplines. 

Neuro-oncology offers the latest cancer therapies, including surgery, radiosurgery (Gamma Knife and Linear Accelerator), chemotherapy and combinations of all three. 


Neuropsychologists provide complete evaluations of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral disorders of neurological origin. 

Areas of specialization include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, brain injury, dementia, epilepsy, learning disabilities, movement disorder, neurodegenerative disease and stroke. 

Our neuropsychologists have extensive experience in detailed assessment, treatment planning and individualized therapy for children and adults.

Speech and Language Pathology

Speech and Language Pathologists provide assessment and treatment to patients of all ages with communication and swallowing disorders. 

The staff consists of full-time speech and language pathologists with expertise in dysfluency, aphasia, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, autism, velopharyngeal incompetence, voice disorders, dysphasia and childhood language disorders.
