"I get to see my patients often and get to know them well. I enjoy that part the most – that personal touch. It helps build the confidence and trust they have with you."
Dr. Vismay Brahmbhatt is board-certified in family medicine. He sees patients of all ages for chronic conditions, general care and routine preventive care visits.
There was never a doubt that a career as a physician was the right choice for Dr. Vismay Brahmbhatt. As a child, he watched his grandpa work as a doctor and was fascinated by what he did.
Dr. Brahmbhatt now works as a family medicine physician, and appreciates the diversity of the practice and his ability to treat a variety of patients.
"I would rather do a lot of different things than just one thing all the time," he said. "You're taking care of everyone in the family, and you're getting a lot of experience working with kids to elderly, which I like."
When meeting with his patients, he has their goals and needs in mind.
"I want to know what they're looking for and help them understand the options they have. I also pay attention to the things that matter to them, not just what is medically advised and necessary," he said. "I have the same compassion and care for everyone and strongly believe in being a good listener. We'll discuss everything and make sure they are satisfied with the answer to help them achieve the goal they want. I intend to help take care of all members of a family."
Dr. Brahmbhatt completed his University of Wisconsin – School of Medicine and Public Health family medicine residency in Eau Claire in 2013.
Dr. Brahmbhatt says he's excited to stay and work in the Eau Claire region because he has close family ties in the area. Outside of health care, he enjoys a busy and active family life.
"I enjoy hiking and like to play cricket. I spend a lot of time with my two children and my wife; they're a lot of fun. We try to do a lot of activities outside during the summer," he said.
