“The most rewarding part of my day is working towards restoring function for patients who have been injured.”
Dr. Tyler J. Dahl, an Orthopedic Surgeon, specializes in orthopedic trauma repairing bones and joints .He also provides knee and hip replacement surgery.
Dr. Dahl likes the challenge of
solving complex problems, which is
what drew him to orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Dahl began his studies in engineering,
but wanted more direct interaction with
people. He enjoys being able to make a
positive difference in people’s lives. “It’s
rewarding to help a patient get through
an injury, restore function and help them
reach their goals,” he said.
Specializing in orthopedic trauma, Dr.
Dahl treats patients who have varying
injuries, ranging from dislocations to
broken bones or fractures in kids and
adults. He also works with patients
who need hip and knee replacements.
Another important part of Dr. Dahl’s role
is to help patients understand their care
plan. “I like to explain the injury and the
rationale behind our treatment and what I’m doing to try to get them back to what they enjoy doing.”
Dr. Dahl earned his medical degree at
Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk.
He completed his residency in orthopedic
surgery at University of Minnesota-Affiliated Hospitals in Minneapolis and a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at University of Louisville-Affiliated Hospitals in Kentucky.
Originally, from Minnesota, Dr. Dahl is happy to stay in the Midwest to work in a collaborative environment with a multidisciplinary trauma team. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time
with his wife and three children.
