“I enjoy providing my patients with
leading edge, quality care in
a small town.”
Dr. Timothy Phillips is a general surgeon and specializes in performing a variety of surgical procedures including laparoscopy and endoscopy.
He enjoys his practice in the Northwoods because he is able to specialize in multiple types of procedures. If he was in a larger city, he would have to be more specialized.
“I enjoy providing my patients with leading edge, quality care in a small town,” Dr. Phillips said.
Dr. Phillips attended medical school at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He then returned to Pittsburgh to complete his General Surgery Residency at Allegheny General Hospital. Dr. Phillips is certified by the American Board of General Surgery and is licensed to practice both in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Dr. Phillips is a Ham Radio operator and has spoken to people in more than 200 countries. He says his hobby is especially fun during the cold, winter days. He also is active with a group that flies radio controlled airplanes.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Phillips, his wife and their three children moved to northern Wisconsin in 2005. They chose the area because they wanted to live in a place where they would like to vacation.
According to Dr. Phillips, “the Northwoods fits that description.”
“I enjoy hunting, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and riding motorcycles during the warmer months; and snowshoeing, cross- country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.” Dr. Phillips says while he enjoys his many hobbies, keeping up with his wife and three kids keeps him busy.
