“I hope that patients feel heard during our time together. I enjoy developing that relationship overtime to help them improve their overall health."
Sierra Miller is a board-certified nurse practitioner in sleep medicine. She works to help patients who are dealing with obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy and other sleep disorders.
Sierra says she enjoys sleep medicine because her care can really impact her patients' everyday life. “I really view your sleep health as a part of preventative care," she said. “With conditions like obstructive sleep apnea, you're really addressing multiple aspects of a person's health."
Since sleep can influence how a person generally feels day to day, Sierra feels it's important to look at the big picture. “I work with the patient to ensure the plan we create together fits into their lives and value system."
Providing health care in her community brings Sierra a strong sense of purpose. “Rural health care is so special. I can follow my patient's care and see them improve over time," she said. “This brings me joy!"
Sierra earned her Master of Nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
