Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Electrophysiologist, specializes in the treatment of heart-related issues like arrhythmias, which are abnormally slow or fast heart rhythms.
Due to arrhythmias,
people may experience dizziness,
palpitations, chest pain or loss of
consciousness. These conditions may
lead to sudden cardiac death.
Dr. Kumar offers interventions like
implantation of cardiac pacemakers or
defibrillators, or ablation therapy for
atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, as
well as counseling, lifestyle modification
and drug therapies. “

to alleviate their anxiety and answer
questions,” he said.

In his free time, Dr. Kumar likes spending time with his wife and daughter reading, swimming, playing tennis, squash or racquetball and going for walks. “My daughter and I love painting and doing art projects together. I also enjoy books related to statistics, history, psychology and philosophy,” said Dr. Kumar.
Dr. Kumar received his medical degree from the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, in Varanasi, India. He then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York, where he also completed his fellowships in cardiology and electrophysiology. He specializes in hypertension, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, cardiac rhythm device management and advanced electrophysiology procedures.
