As a board-certified family medicine physician, Dr. Sami Ahmed provides a holistic approach to medical care, taking into consideration different perspectives to offer the best care for his patients.
“No other specialty can offer medical care, starting with prenatal all the way towards end-of-life care,” he said. “As a result, I can develop a lifelong patient-physician relationship, allowing me to provide comprehensive care. That’s what I love about family medicine, you become an important pillar in patient’s lives.”
Within family medicine, Dr. Ahmed has special interest in geriatric medicine.
“I’m passionate about making sure that their health, mobility and homes are optimized for their care and quality of life,” he said. “I provide patient-centered care that strives for patient satisfaction and utilizes the current standards of evidence-based medicine.”
Dr. Ahmed was born in India and raised in Mississauga, Ontario in Canada. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at York University in Toronto. He attended medical school at St. George’s University in the West Indies and completed his clerkships at NYU in Brooklyn, New York. His residency training was in family medicine at Hackensack Meridian JFK Medical Center in New Jersey.
“In my free time I enjoy hiking, kayaking, travel, and watching Wes Anderson films,” said Dr. Ahmed.
