“Truly my biggest joys in practicing medicine are getting to know the people that walk through the door, not just the medical issues, but the person."
Samantha Shafranski is a physician assistant in the primary care department at Marshfield Medical Center-Minocqua. She treats a wide array of common ailments, some of which have included diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, musculoskeletal injuries, women's health concerns and skin lesions.
Samantha's approach to patient care is making sure her patients are well informed about their health so that they have the knowledge to make good decisions for themselves and the ailment they may be dealing with.
“I believe the most important elements in providing patient care are listening to the patient and understanding what they are going through, then acting and responding to that problem with a plan that the patient can understand," she said. “I decided on primary care because I felt called to pursue it and absolutely loved it during clinical rotations. I truly enjoy getting to know a person beyond medicine and developing a relationship with them, so that I can provide the best care possible."
Samantha earned her master's of physician assistant studies at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.
A native of Stevens Point, Samantha enjoys spending time with her husband, training her two dogs, exercising, downhill skiing, crafting and following Wisconsin sports teams.
