Dr. Robert Cagle is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in partial knee and total knee replacements, and direct anterior total hip replacement. He has extensive experience in revision surgery for hip and knee replacements.
Leveraging Dr. Cagle’s trauma background, he treats fractures both surgically and nonsurgically. In addition, he provides nonsurgical care for hip and knee arthritis and sports injuries.
Listening to the patient’s needs and goals guides Dr. Cagle’s approach to treatment plans. “First and foremost, I listen to the patient and try to understand their problem and how it is affecting their life,” he said. “Next, I try to take a conservative approach first and use surgery as a last resort.”
Getting people back to enjoing their active lifestyles is what drives Dr. Cagle.
“Nothing is more gratifying then to see someone play with grandchildren, get back to their sport of choice, or enjoy their leisure time pain-free,” he said.
Dr. Cagle earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Hecompleted an internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine and hip preservation at Methodist Sports Indiana University in Indianapolis and an AO Traveling Trauma Fellowship in Bern, Switzerland.
Dr. Cagle and his wife have three children. He loves spending time with his family.
They enjoy traveling to new places, going to Disney World and spending time in the great outdoors. As a fitness enthusiast, he exercises daily and completed a full Ironman triathlon in 2017.
