"I like to focus on overall wellness, with patients from kids to 100 year olds."
Rebecca Zwak, PA-C, suffered several injuries while a three-sport high school athlete. This lead to three knee surgeries.
"I got to see medicine and therapy up close, first hand," said Rebecca. "I received great care during that time, and I wanted to help people in the same way."
As a patient, Rebecca was exposed to a variety of medical professionals - like physician assistants - and the experience got her interested in medicine.
Now, as a physician assistant in family medicine, Rebecca loves working with patients of all ages. She especially enjoys working with young women on wellness as a whole, emphasizing how diet and exercise can improve their overall health and lives.
Rebecca, who was drawn to the people and rural medicine setting offered at Marshfield Medical Center-Rice Lake, wants people to feel comfortable coming to see her. Knowing that a trip to the doctor can be daunting, she said she does everything she can to ensure that her patients feel at home and listened to.
Practicing what she preaches when it comes to wellness, Rebecca has remained an active athlete. She plays softball and downhill skis, and enjoys time at her family cabin, hunting and fishing.
