“I
love seeing patients grow both in their health and personally throughout their
life."
Board certified family medicine physician assistant Rachael Johnston enjoys helping patients address their concerns and meet their health goals. She has a strong interest in preventive medicine, pediatrics and women's health.
Johnston treats patients for chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, COPD, anxiety and depression. She also sees patients for acute concerns, including pneumonia, sinus infections, viral infections and suture placements.
"I like that I am able to help patients manage a variety of conditions and concerns with plans that fit their lifestyle," Johnston said. “I'm also able to perform some procedures that can improve patients' wellbeing."
She assists with injections for osteoarthritis, skin biopsies and toenail removal for ingrown nails.
Johnston completed her schooling at the University of Bridgeport. She grew up in a small, farming town just outside of the western suburbs of Minneapolis.
"I was drawn to Price County for the beauty that the county offers from its variety of lakes, rivers, to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest," Johnston said. "I've learned to love the friendly small town feel of the area's communities and look forward to serving them for years to come."
Johnston is a former Division I swimmer at the George Washington University. She now helps coach the local club swim team. In addition to swimming, she enjoys walking, reading, gardening, sewing, crocheting and hiking.
