“I really value having my patients understand what is going on with their treatment.”
Dr. Johnson enjoys practicing obstetrics
and gynecology. “What I really enjoy is the
variety,” he said, “whether it is attending
a delivery in the middle of the night or
performing surgery for an elderly woman.
It’s about helping women in all phases of
their lives.”
He said he makes a special effort to explain
things carefully to his patients because
when they understand a treatment
approach, they are happier and more likely
to follow their treatment plan. “I would
hope that my patients would tell others
that I listen to their concerns, and that we
come to an agreement on how to proceed
with their care.”
Dr. Johnson is a native of Ohio who earned his medical degree at Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. He completed his residency in OB/GYN at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan, a suburb of Ann Arbor. He came to Marshfield Clinic because he was impressed with the staff during his interview and the resources available to help with patient care, and because he really enjoyed the community.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children, watching sports, reading, and working around the house.
