Dr. Paul Thompson, board-certified family medicine physician, appreciates the time he gets to spend with patients, learning about their lives as well as their medical problems.
“I appreciate a more global view – physically, mentally and spiritually – because so many patient problems cross these dimensions,” Dr. Thompson said. “My patients appreciate that. They come to me for advice on all aspects of their health care.”
He coordinates and cares for patients of all ages and varying conditions from diagnosing and treating long-term conditions to common medical problems, and providing wellness care and prevention efforts.
Dr. Thompson sees himself as a coach, guiding patients towards taking control of their own health and improvement. He especially likes that he is surrounded by other family medicine providers at the Merrill Center, with easy access to specialty support. His passion is to help each patient see their potential for good health, and help them reach for it.
Dr. Thompson received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in Missouri. He completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin – Family Practice Center in Wausau and is board certified in family medicine.
He is married and has four grown children. He volunteers in his church’s ministries and music programs. He enjoys running, reading, and loves spending time with his family.
