As a pediatrician, Dr. Patrick McCann provides well-child visits, treats children when they are sick and manages chronic or ongoing medical conditions.
He attended medical school at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies and completed residency at Marshfield Clinic Health System. He is board certified in pediatrics.
He is a big proponent of early interventions for children such as the early reader's program at Marshfield Children's that provides free books to those that see a pediatrician.
“Youth is the best time to curb obesity, improve activity and make lasting changes to neurodevelopment," McCann said. “Early intervention can lead to an overall healthier lifestyle."
McCann's own experiences with his pediatrician shape how he cares for kids today. He remembers that his pediatrician was nice and built a good rapport with his patients and their parents.
Like his own pediatrician, McCann values building a rapport with his patients. This is why he appreciates the frequency of pediatric visits because you get to know the family better and what their needs are.
“In dealing with parents, I know we are always on the same page because everyone wants to do what's best for their children," McCann said.
His hobbies include running, playing basketball, traveling and cooking.
