Dr. Melissa Stoffel knew she wanted to be an OB/GYN physician when she was in eighth grade. While taking part in a Marshfield Clinic Health System medical explorers program, she shadowed an obstetrician for a day and was there when a patient had a baby girl.
“It was a life-changing moment for me,” Dr. Stoffel said. “I knew that’s what I wanted to be.”
Dr. Stoffel is especially interested in infertility, high-risk obstetrics, laparoscopic surgeries as well as surgery for pelvic prolapse. She loves to help women with symptomatic menopause feel better.
“To see the tears of joy on the face of parents gives me chills every single time,” she said.
Dr. Stoffel earned her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Missouri. She did her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Michigan State University – Metropolitan Hospital. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
She married Kyle, her high school sweetheart, and they have two sons and one daughter. Dr. Stoffel loves being a mom. Most of her time is spent supporting her children in their athletic events and school activities. She also enjoys running.
