"I find it rewarding to be involved in all aspects of a patient's breast care."
As a physician assistant in General Surgery, Mary's practice includes evaluating and managing high risk breast conditions and benign breast disease, as well as offering ongoing follow-up of breast cancer patients.
"I thoroughly enjoy my role as a physician assistant in the High Risk Breast Service. This role allows me to establish an ongoing relationship with patients and to be involved in all aspects of a patient's breast care," Mary said. "This may include discussing a new diagnosis, postoperative care and ultimately managing that patient's ongoing breast health needs for years to come."
Mary joined Marshfield Clinic Health System in 2005, working in OB/GYN for 14 years prior to moving her practice to the High Risk Breast Service.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Mary said that the key to effective patient care is to "take time to listen and to answer patients' questions as thoroughly as possible. It is important to take into account all of the details in order to understand the 'big picture' for each patient."
Mary and her husband, Nate, are originally from Wisconsin Rapids and enjoy spending quality family time with their three growing boys.
