Dr. Martha Hidalgo shares she hopes her patients say their health is improved following their care with her team at Marshfield Medical Center-Eau Claire.
In her field of medicine, she appreciates that she can see and treat a great variety of conditions in adults. A board-certified internist, Dr. Hidalgo performs physical, preventative and pre-operative exams and provides care for mental health concerns, diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and more.
She received her medical degree from National University of San Marcos in Lima Peru. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Health System-Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and her residency in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Health System.
Dr. Hidalgo is a firm believer in preventative medicine.
“The optimal control of chronic conditions is possible if the provider and the patient work as a team with open communication," she said.
She's also passionate about doing things right.
“I follow my patients when it is necessary or needed. I like to give positive feelings about their medical issues and take things one step at a time," she said.
A passion for health care is something that runs in the family. Dr. Hidalgo works alongside her husband, Dr. Efrain Sueldo, who is also an internist at Marshfield Medical Center-Eau Claire. Her daughter is a physician resident of Internal Medicine in Chicago and her son is in Eau Claire doing nursing, soon to start his clinicals.
Outside of work, Dr. Hidalgo enjoys wildlife photography, pickleball and spending time with her family.
