Dr. Maria Charlotte Alvarez joined
Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center
Family Medicine in 2013. She provides
complete family health care for all ages
in the Northwoods.
“I am very happy to be part of Family
Medicine at Minocqua Center. It offers
diverse medical challenges,” Dr. Alvarez
said. “I have many years of experience
treating patients of many different
cultures and backgrounds.”
Dr. Alvarez received her medical degree
from the Far Eastern University, Nicanor
Reyes Medical Foundation in the
Philippines. She conducted her clinical
internship at Chinese General Hospital,
also in the Philippines, and then completed
her internship and residency at Texas
Tech University Health Science Center in
El Paso, Texas. She went on to achieve her master’s degree in business administration in health care through Regis University in Colorado.
Dr. Alvarez is board certified, and a diplomate of the American Academy
of Family Physicians, and a member of the American Medical Association as well as the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Dr. Alvarez says she has simple interest like reading about the world, economics, medicine, fiction, mystery, sci-fi, fantasy and children’s books. Most of all, she enjoys reading Japanese manga.
“I also like to watch Japanese anime and Korean drama, and I love listening to all kinds of music,” she said.
