MacKenzie Derrett is an infectious disease nurse practitioner who sees patients for a wide variety of infections caused by bacteria, viruses or parasites. Some of her patients are affected by infectious disease from countries around the world.
Derrett says the most important part of providing valuable care is ensuring each patient feels fully understood and listened to.
“I want my patients to feel like I genuinely care for them and all their health concerns matter," Derrett said. “I hope all of my patients leave their appointments feeling that I answered their questions and truly cared about them."
Derrett is a Wisconsin native. She grew up in Antigo and says she likes the sense of community in this area and state. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, along with staying active by hiking and playing tennis.
