“I get to help
people see
clearly, which is
so important to
quality of life. It’s
a privilege to do
this work.”
Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Liesl Amon
is happy to return to her native state and
serve patients.
For Dr. Amon, listening to patients is one of
her top priorities in patient care.
“If a patient doesn’t feel listened to, that’s
not a good care experience,” she said.
“I want my patients to feel heard. And
getting to know my patients helps me
provide the best, most personalized care.”
One of Dr. Amon’s special areas of interest
is managing diseases of the eye. She also
likes the variety of patients optometry
allows her to care for.
“My first patient might be 8 years old and
the next patient might be 100,” she said. “I just love meeting people of all ages and from all walks of life.”
Dr. Amon earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry. She also completed a residency in primary care and ocular disease at Tallahassee VA Health Center in Florida.
Spending time with her dog is one of Dr. Amon’s favorite activities. She also has family that lives in Wisconsin.
