“I believe in providing compassionate, high quality care as a patient goes through the diagnosis of cancer.”
As a nurse practitioner, Laura Lauer, N.P.,
will help monitor your condition for
changes or improvements. This includes
providing updates on lab work, imaging
and answering questions.
She feels a large part of providing
compassionate care is listening to her
patients and offering suggestions in
caring for the mind, body and spirit
during cancer treatment and follow-up.
“I have known many people that have
had cancer. It is a privilege to provide
care to patients with cancer because I
know they are inviting me in during one
of the scariest times in their life,” Laura said.
She understands it is important to
provide high quality care to patients
before, during and after they undergo
evidence-based cancer treatments.
“I believe Marshfield Clinic Health System is very progressive in their evidence-based care. It comes from a basis of research that drives that care,” Laura said. “Our aim is to provide high-quality, compassionate care that is feasible for patients.”
She believes it is important to find options for patients that are physically and financially feasible.
Laura completed her nurse practitioner degree from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin. She and her family are very active in the community including sponsoring a cancer fundraiser every year. She and her significant other, Matt, live in Stevens Point and have five children and many grandchildren.
