“I love to develop long-term relationships with patients and assist them in achieving good health."
Dr. Kelly Badger is a board-certified family medicine physician who sees patients across their entire lifespan. She helps young and old prevent illness, manage chronic issues and treat acute problems as they come up.
Dr. Badger says this is a career she's envisioned for a long time.
“From a young age, I was drawn to helping others," said Dr. Badger. “Then when I had my first human biology course in high school, I realized I could combine that desire with my love of science."
Dr. Badger takes a simplistic approach to patient care. She describes medical conditions in plain words so people can understand their bodies.
“One of the best compliments I've received from a patient was 'you are a compassionate, straight-shooter who knows her stuff,'" Dr. Badger said.
Dr. Badger feels gratification when she sees patients after they were able to make lifestyle changes and feel better. She knows, though, that health care has its ups and downs.
“My biggest accomplishments have been the small moments in countless exam rooms where patients have expressed both joy and sorrow, and I've been there to support them," Dr. Badger said.
After growing up in Colby, Wisconsin, Dr. Badger attended the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health for medical school in Madison before completing a family medicine residency at Community Health Network in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Badger is married and has four children, who all enjoy being outside. She also likes to travel and experience new cultures and food.
