"I will treat and care for my patients as if they were a part of my own family."
Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner Kayla Jenness believes the important elements in providing the best care for patients are compassion, truth and teamwork. She is excited to be practicing her compassion and truth as part of the Marshfield Medical Center-Rice Lake team.
Kayla entered the field of medicine because she wanted more than anything to help others.
“What better way to help others than by helping them achieve their optimal health?" said Kayla.
Kayla chose internal medicine in order to build her confidence and enhance her knowledge through every-day learning.
“I chose internal medicine because of the complexity, the challenges, the learning experiences, the practice environment and the ability to fit into my lifestyle."
While Kayla enjoys complexity and challenges, when she does not have an answer for something, she says she utilizes all her available resources to help find the answers. She says she enjoys getting to know her patients and their families the most during the process. She wants her patients to refer to her as kind, compassionate, flexible, hardworking and a good listener.
Kayla was drawn to Marshfield Medical Center-Rice Lake's rural location and population, and appreciates her potential for growth here. In her free time, she loves to spend time outdoors, especially in the spring and summer, when she spends time at her cabin. She enjoys fishing, gardening, exercising and most of all, spending time with her significant other, Justin, and other family and friends.
