“Being
a nurse practitioner allows me to really get to know my patients on a deeper
level.”
As an OB/GYN nurse practitioner, Katie Musolff specializes in treating her female patients as a whole: mind, body and spirit. She works with women across their life span from teenage sexual development through their reproductive years and menopause.
Her holistic approach includes the use of alternative therapies. "From diet and exercise to natural supplementation, our approach is to look at all aspects of a woman's life to see what's affecting her health. We consider all options, not just traditional solutions," she said.
She considers her position at the Wausau Center an honor and a dream come true. "The doctors and entire staff are here because they're passionate about women's health from a holistic perspective," Katie said. She has a special focus on peri-menopausal conditions which can occur when, "the stress from being a multi-tasking super mom wreaks long-term havoc on a woman's hormones causing night sweats, fatigue, insomnia and mood swings." She also has a particular interest in teen health.
Katie is married with three children. She and her husband believe in spending as much time as possible with family. They enjoy everything from skiing to eating bowls of popcorn while watching a family movie.
Katie earned a graduate degree as a nurse practitioner from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities – Nursing School. She is board certified in women's health.
