Certified Nurse Midwife Karen Johnson said she was called to be a midwife. With board certification as a Nurse-Midwife and Family Nurse Practice, her care philosophy focuses on creating a safe space for patients to address their concerns. She wants her patients to feel empowered, listened to, cared for and informed to make the best decisions for themselves and their families.
“I genuinely enjoy attending births," she said. “The journey of pregnancy to birth is a miracle, every birth is so unique. I want to provide support, guidance, and care to families during this transformative time. I want to ensure that the birth process is safe, empowering and respectful."
As a certified nurse midwife, Karen provides routine women's health care, along with pregnancy care, labor and childbirth support, and contraception. She has special expertise in adolescent pregnancy care and physiologic birth.
Practicing in the Eau Claire area most of her midwifery career, she is proud to continue care for patients in the community and see families grow.
“I feel blessed to have worked with so many wonderful families," Karen said. “I am honored to witness everyday miracles."
Karen and her husband have five children. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, going to sporting events, baking and traveling when the opportunity arises.
