“When
a patient places their trust in me for their skin care, it is a humbling
responsibility. I strive to treat all
patients with respect, dignity and the best care possible for their skin
concerns.”
Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Joshua Holewinski sees dermatology patients for skin cancer screenings and treats psoriasis, acne, eczema, warts, and other common skin conditions. He also performs minor in-office procedures including cryotherapy and skin biopsies.
Holewinski initially received a bachelor's degree in food science in 2008 and a master's degree in medical nutrition therapy in 2009. After finding his passion for dermatology, he left his position as a Registered Dietitian to pursue a degree as a nurse practitioner concentrating on dermatology. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing in 2015 from Boston College in Massachusetts.
“Initially, I was focused on nutrition and fitness. However, as I gained more knowledge, I became interested in the possible links between diet and acne," he said. “This led to a passion for the entire field of dermatology. It is extremely diverse and I enjoy all aspects of skin care and helping patients who are struggling with skin concerns."
Holewinski is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served on deployments to the Mediterranean Sea, Indian Ocean, Kuwait, Japan and the Philippines.
He is married with two children. In his spare time, Holewinski enjoys being with his family, reading, exercising, cooking and developing gluten and dairy-free recipes.
