“My goal as a family physician is to establish
long-term relationships with my patients,
and to provide continuity of care.”
Dr. Joseph Arias, a board-certified family medicine physician, has a special interest in helping patients learn how to care for themselves in the face of chronic illnesses. He said his patients often tell him he's kind, approachable and willing to take time with them.
He has practiced in Wisconsin Rapids since joining Marshfield Clinic Health System. “Wisconsin Rapids has a small-town feel," he said. “People know each other better and it's a quieter atmosphere than cities we used to live in."
Dr. Arias joined Marshfield Clinic Health System because of its reputation for excellence and its location. Originally from Chicago, he completed his residency in family medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin and St. Michael's Hospital in Milwaukee.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, the Philippines, and completed an internship in family medicine at Norwegian American Hospital in Chicago before moving to Milwaukee.
He enjoys following baseball, basketball and football, and listening to music from the 1950s and 1960s. He and his wife have three children.
