Dr. John Petronovich is a board-certified general surgeon who performs the full spectrum of general surgery procedures.
He specializes in abdominal surgeries, breast surgery, cancer care, endoscopies, varicose veins, venous disease, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Dr. Petronovich is proficient with minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotic-assisted surgeries.
“I enjoy general surgery due to the variety of disease processes we encounter and the many different areas of the body we treat,” Dr. Petronovich said. “Surgery is very gratifying because patients come to you with a problem and you work together to resolve that problem. That is what initially drew me to surgery.”
Dr. Petronovich believes communication is key to achieving the best outcomes.
“I want to communicate well in terms of the expectations of surgery and to make sure my patients know what the treatment process entails," Dr. Petronovich said. "I also strive to understand my patients’ concerns and ensure they feel involved in their care every step of the way.”
Dr. Petronovich received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and completed his general surgery residency with Marshfield Clinic Health System.
Outside of work, Dr. Petronovich enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife and four children.
