Growing up in Chippewa Falls, Jessica Lemke, board-certified family medicine physician, chose to pursue a medical career because she enjoyed science and wanted to help people.
“I was drawn to primary care because you get to see such a variety,” Dr. Lemke said. “I also like that you get to know families, and see how relationships affect a person’s overall health.”
Through her education, Dr. Lemke developed an interest in women’s health and pediatrics. Through her clinical practice she has gained a deep appreciation of caring for adults, and specifically seniors. Developing care relationships with patients that extend from birth, through the continuum of life is the cornerstone of Dr. Lemke’s practice.
“I would love to have patients age with me as I continue on in my career,” she said. “My focus is to help each patient any way I can. I enjoy when we can find a treatment that gets them better. It’s very rewarding.”
Dr. Lemke received a bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison in 2008, and earned her doctor of medicine in 2014. After completing her residency in Appleton, she and her husband returned home to raise a family. Before starting her job, the two had their first daughter.
“Both my husband and I are from the area, so it’s been nice being back closer to family,” she said. “I am happy to provide a service to the community that raised me.”
When she’s not working, Dr. Lemke enjoys spending time with her family. She also likes waterskiing and boating, and ballroom dancing with her husband.
