“In many ways,
we are treating
the entire family,
because everyone
is affected when
a loved one is
not feeling well.”
Nurse practitioner Jessica Geiger works with heart patients in the Heart Failure Improvement Clinic.
After working for some time as a critical care nurse, Jessica determined that she wanted to further her education. After obtaining her degree as a nurse practitioner, Jessica found a match for her aspirations in cardiology care.
“Heart failure can be a very scary diagnosis for both patients and their loved ones,” Jessica said. “We focus on educating and supporting not only patients, but their family members as well. The support of family is vital, as heart failure can be a lifechanging diagnosis.”
Jessica joined Marshfield Clinic in 2006. “Marshfield Clinic has always felt like home,” she said, noting that her mother is a longtime employee. “With its reputation as a world-class medical facility, I felt I made the right decision.”
She earned her graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner.
Jessica and her husband, Bill, have two children. She enjoys spending time with her family, running and spending time at their cabin.
