Growing up, it might have been an expected path for Jacquie Draxler Rauth to join the family automotive business. However, she knows her way around the body's vascular system way better than a car's engine.
“I can't tell you how to change the oil, but I can tell you where to put gas in and that's about it. I know how to restart a heart a lot better than re-starting a car," Draxler Rauth said.
However, nursing was in her family too. “My grandmother was a nurse, and she was inspiring with all the stories she would tell," Draxler Rauth said. “Being able to take care of patients and make a difference in their lives was something I knew I wanted to do."
A board certified family nurse practitioner in vascular surgery, Draxler Rauth treats patients with a variety of cardiovascular ailments, including varicose veins, pain in the legs, wounds that won't heal and carotid artery concerns.
“I am passionate about complete patient care. My heart sinks when patients tell me it's been years since they've seen a doctor or they felt like they were lost in the cracks of health care," Draxler Rauth said. “I like to see patients through from beginning to end of whatever their ailment may be."
Draxler Rauth earned a master's degree in nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and an associate's degree in nursing from Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
Draxler Rauth and her husband have three children. When she gets free time, she enjoys baking, yoga, woodworking, and spending time with her family.
