"I'm a people person. I like explaining things in a way people understand and to help better their situation."
Nurse Practitioner Heidi Korb is excited to be located at the Marshfield Medical Center-River Region Stevens Point Campus. She has been a Family Nurse Practitioner in the area since 2006. While in Family Practice, she realized that she especially enjoyed seeing people with skin concerns. In 2015, she moved into the specialty of Dermatology.
"I have always enjoyedhelping people," she said. "I like to really listen to people so they know they've been heard and then explain information back to them in a way that is easy to understand."
When asked why she likes dermatology, Heidi replied, "Some medical conditions are internal and can be kept private as you deal with them. Skin conditions though, are often visible and this can really affect a person's self-esteem and their interactions with everyone around them. Being able to resolve a teenager's cystic acne or clear the skin of someone struggling with psoriasis is really rewarding."
Korb graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Registered Nursing from UW-Eau Claire in 1994. She graduated in 2006 with her Master's degree in Family Nurse Practitioner from UW-Oshkosh. She served in Family Practice from 2006-2015 in both the Waupaca and Stevens Point areas and then in 2015, she specialized in Dermatology.
Korb is married and has three grown sons. She cherishes spending time with family, her pets and gathering with friends.
