“I think family medicine is the only specialty that caters to that full scope of medical care,” Dr. Hector Manzon said.
Dr. Manzon, a board-certified family medicine physician, is interested in the procedural side of his specialty, as well as everyday care for his patients. He enjoys performing minor office procedures such suturing cuts, removing skin lesions like moles and other procedures.
After growing up in a smaller community, Dr. Manzon appreciates living in rural Wisconsin.
After earning his medical degree in the Philippines, he completed his residency at Wheeling (West Virginia) Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program. This residency included an inpatient pediatrics rotation at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and health center rotations in various communities in Ohio as well as in Wheeling.
Dr. Manzon and his wife, Dr. Dominee Cruz Miranda, are both family medicine physicians in Stevens Point. The two of them met in medical school in the Philippines but completed separate residency programs for three years. They were happy to join Marshfield Clinic Health System, which had the flexibility to place them in the same location.
He enjoys playing tennis and basketball, running, playing bass guitar and collecting comic books and statues of comic characters.
