“My specialty is about helping people
regain function,” said Dr. Lu, “I’m part of Marshfield Clinic’s
spine care team including specialists in
physical medicine and rehabilitation,
physical therapy, neurosurgery, manipulative
medicine and orthopedic spine care.”
“Back pain is nearly as common as the
common cold,” Dr. Lu said. “Back pain can
occur from an injury, chronic condition,
deterioration or be present at birth.
Physical medicine and rehabilitation
physicians help sort out the cause and
how best to treat it nonoperatively.
“Treatment can include physical therapy, medication, acupuncture treatment and injections in the spine. We can help you rehab your back and manage your injury, getting back to normal life.”
Dr. Lu went to medical school at Shandong Medical University in China, earned her Ph.D. at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
