Dr. Erik Dovre believes the field of medicine combines both science and art, a combination he enjoys. He likes solving problems for patients.
“I really love the challenge of putting all the data we have together into a plan for each patient,” Dr. Dovre said. “I was attracted to OB/GYN because I like being part of the miracle of child birth. I also appreciate being able to offer a full spectrum of OB/GYN care to my patients, including pregnancy care, gynecologic care and surgery.”
In terms of patient care, Dr. Dovre said his approach is all about working with patients.
“I want to hear their stories and work to understand who my patients are and what their needs are,” he said. “I want to help patients solve problems if necessary and help them live the healthiest lives they possibly can.”
The best part of work for Dr. Dovre is the chance to meet new people and hear their stories.
Dr. Dovre earned his medical degree at University of Minnesota – Twin Cities – Medical School. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Washington University - School of Medicine in St. Louis. He has about 25 years of experience as a practicing obstetrician.
Dr. Dovre likes to spend his free time outdoors and enjoying the performing arts. He is married with two adult children.
