Erica Gyorfi, physician assistant, has had an interest in the sciences and health care since she was young.
“I grew up with that background and saw my grandparents work as science teachers. As I got older, I enjoyed that educational aspect and knew I wanted to provide care and education to my community. It was a way I could give back," she said.
Wanting an opportunity to offer one-on-one support to those she was caring for and knowing health care was an opportunity to combine science with support, she pursued her medical degree.
Gyorfi received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and received her Master of Clinic Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida.
As a dermatology P.A., her objective is to provide personalized care to her patients.
“I want to know what their needs, concerns and goals are. I really want this to be patient-driven care," she said. “I explain what they need to know in terms they can understand so they know exactly what's going on."
Gyorfi enjoys making a difference in her patient's lives.
“I want them to feel confident about themselves and about their care," she said. “The skin is something you can visibly see a change in and I'm looking forward to helping patients with their concerns and seeing those changes."
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, running, kayaking, snowshoeing, traveling, cooking, playing and coaching volleyball and playing the ukulele.
She has a cat and dog and is happy to be living near her parents in Eau Claire.
