"I believe it is important for patients to make informed decisions about their care. I work with patients, as a team, to decide on a care plan that's best for them."
Physician Assistant Calistie Kumbier has practiced medicine in the Minocqua area since 2010 and realized there was a significant need for dermatology services. Kumbier joined Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center in 2019.
"Having always had an interest in skin conditions, I decided to concentrate on dermatology as my primary clinical practice in 2018, training alongside the residency program at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield," Kumbier said. "I am happy to bring my expertise in dermatology to care for the local community."
Calistie provides care to patients with a wide range of skin conditions, including acne, skin cancer, warts and psoriasis.
Calistie completed her degree in physician assistant studies through the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison in 2010. She is a board certified physician assistant.
During her physician assistant studies, Calistie completed a medical rotation in the Northwoods and fell in love with the area.
"The Northwoods is a beautiful area to work, live, and raise a family," Calistie said. "I have enjoyed working in this close-knit community, forming relationships with my patients and those I have come to know in the area. Over the years, I have developed relationships with many of the medical providers in the area, and I am honored to work in an area with such quality medical care."
Calistie is married with one daughter and two bulldogs. When she is not caring for patients, she enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends.
