Dr. Andrew Guminski chose a career in medicine because he loves science.
“I find it very rewarding and I enjoy helping people and love solving problems," he said.
He specialized in internal medicine and pediatrics because of the in-depth training, particularly in chronic medical conditions.
Dr. Guminski received his medical degree from St. George's University in St. George's, Grenada. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Michigan State University – Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. He is board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.
He sees patients of all ages for well-child visits, physicals, common illnesses and chronic medical concerns, like hypertension, diabetes and heart disease.
“It is very rewarding for me to get patients with poorly-controlled chronic medical problems regulated, as I feel I am adding years to their lives," he said.
Dr. Guminski also has expertise in punch biopsy of the skin, simple suturing, knee aspiration and injections, pap smears and interpreting electrocardiograms (EKGs).
As a primary care provider, he strives to be as straightforward and honest as possible with his patients.
“Listening carefully to patients is paramount to establishing good rapport," he said.
Dr. Guminski is married to his wife, who is an occupational therapist, and they have two boys. He enjoys tennis, mountain biking and scuba diving.
