“I want patients to feel heard. The patient-doctor relationship should be a partnership, working together toward your health goals."
Dr. Alissa Small started working in health care at a young age and found the work challenging and fulfilling. With her love of sciences, she knew becoming a physician was her next step. In OB-GYN, Dr. Small provides routine women's health care, pregnancy care, as well as management of a full-spectrum of gynecologic issues.
“I enjoy helping patients to achieve the healthiest versions of themselves through all stages of life," she said. “Whether it's through lifestyle changes, medications or surgical procedures, partnering to make the best choices for them is what brings me joy."
In her practice, she has expertise in minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, including hysterectomy adnexal surgery and hysteroscopy. Dr. Small focuses on communication with her patients to provide effective and personalized care.
“Having this broad scope of practice allows me to get to know patients well and help to make a real impact on their lives," she said.
Outside of work, Dr. Small enjoys hiking cycling, music and reading. Originally from Watertown, she has family in north central Wisconsin who received care from Marshfield Clinic Health System, and is proud to be part of the Marshfield community.
