Marshfield Medical Center is home to a comprehensive hospital-based rehabilitation center providing the highest level of available rehabilitation to treat physical or cognitive impairment after illness or injury. Our team approach to patient care consists of a wide variety of specialists who work together to help patients return home.
Our center has 14 private rooms that are specially designed for inpatient rehabilitation combined with a dedicated hospital unit with its own therapy gym and simulated environments for advanced restorative training.
We evaluate each patient as soon as they are admitted to help determine:
- Medical and neurological status
- Strengths and limitations with sensory, motor and speech/language abilities
- Psychosocial needs
- Level of cognitive functioning
- Special equipment needs
- Long and short-term goals
- Family support
Skilled therapy services are provided Monday – Saturday. At least three hours of therapy will be provided five to six days per week during your stay. Rehabilitation nurses will work with each patient on a 24-hour basis to ensure consistency and help meet goals.
Our rehabilitation team
At Marshfield Clinic Health System, teamwork is the essence of our rehabilitation program.
We feature a variety of experts who collaborate to help every patient obtain the highest level of function possible. Depending on needs, our rehabilitation team includes any or all of these health care professionals:
Our Adolescent and Children's program team also includes a child life specialist, music therapist, school tutor and pediatric psychologist.
In addition to our rehabilitation team, patients will also have Marshfield Clinic Health System's entire spectrum of medical
specialty providers on hand. Our rehabilitation team connects you with experts in
internal medicine,
neurology,
orthopedics,
cardiology and more to ensure you receive comprehensive care throughout your healthcare journey.
Because we treat patients in a hospital-based unit, patients have access to all hospital specialty services and can continue to be followed by their Marshfield Medical Center physicians while admitted to the inpatient rehabilitation unit. Patients also continue to receive ongoing 24-hour hospital-based nursing care to manage and monitor all medical conditions.
