You will start in pre-op.
At this point, you will still be awake and be able to chat with your care team about the day ahead.
You will then be sent to the operating room.
Our
anesthesiologists will meet with you and make sure you are comfortable before going under general anesthesia. Then, when you are ready, our bariatric surgery team will proceed with the surgery.
Afterwards, we will bring you to our post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
Here you will be monitored closely by our care team to ensure that you are recovering properly. You usually will stay in the hospital for a night or two after your surgery, but duration can depend on various factors.
