What is a specialty pharmacy?
A specialty pharmacy provides medicines that are different from traditional medicines. These medicines treat long-term, life-threatening or rare diseases. They work to slow down or reduce the damage caused by the condition, rather than just treating the symptoms.
URAC, an independent, nonprofit organization, is a well-known leader in promoting health care quality through its accreditation, education and measurement programs. URAC’s Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation provides an external validation of excellence in Specialty Pharmacy Management and provides Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) oriented processes that improve operations and enhance compliance What services are offered at Marshfield Clinic Specialty Pharmacy?
