Nutrition counseling

What you eat and how much you eat have health implications beyond weight management.

Our registered dietitians can provide nutrition assessment, patient education, counseling and long-term support for lifestyle change and for health promotion or disease management.

You may choose from individual or group programs. Family members or others you want involved in your care are welcome to attend appointments.

Support groups provide a friendly opportunity to discuss your concerns with people struggling with the same problems. See below for a list of support groups.

We welcome referrals for patients of all ages with any type of nutritional concern.

Conditions for which you may ask for a nutrition-counseling referral may include:

  • Cancer – prevention or support during treatment
  • Cholesterol/fat/lipids
  • Diabetes
  • Eating disorders
  • Food allergy/intolerance/malabsorption syndromes
  • High blood pressure
  • Ketogenic diet
  • Kidney disease
  • Phenylketonuria (PKU)
  • Prediabetes
  • Sports nutrition
  • Weight loss surgery
  • Weight management
