Meals and room service
Order meals from the restaurant-style menu given to you after admission.
Meal service is available. Meals are prepared and fit most diet restrictions. A patient’s cultural and religious food preferences are honored whenever possible, unless contraindicated by their medical condition. Check your menu or hospital patient guide for hours of service.
Dietitian assistance
Your doctor prescribes a diet after admission. Our Clinical Nutrition Team is available to help you understand any diet restrictions made by your care team. If you would like to speak with a registered dietitian, let your care staff know and they will contact them.
Visitors may purchase meals in the hospital cafeteria. Guest trays are also available upon request for a charge.
Telephones
All rooms are equipped with a telephone. To make a local call, dial 8, then dial the desired phone number.
Long-distance calls can be made by dialing 0 for the operator. Give the operator the phone number and they will connect you to your party. You may call the hospital operator for assistance by dialing 0 at any time.
At Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson, local calls can be made at no charge by dialing 9, with the phone number. Long distance calls may be charged to a calling card or a patient’s home number or a patient may make a collect call.
Patients may receive calls directly in their rooms or through the main hospital switchboard. Dickinson’s main switchboard number is 906-774-1313. Within the hospital, the switchboard may be reached by dialing 0.
