Children diagnosed with some cancers no longer have to travel long distances to see a pediatric oncologist.
Dr. Moira Lancelot, a Clinic pediatric hematologist and oncologist, this week begins seeing patients at the Clinic's Eau Claire Center, 2116 Craig Road, Eau Claire. She's the first such cancer specialist to see childhood cancer patients locally in the Chippewa Valley.
Lancelot completed her residency in general pediatrics at Woodhull Medical Center, an affiliate of New York University School of Medicine. She completed her fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit.
As a pediatric hematologist/oncologist, Lancelot treats children of all ages who are diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders. She understands the physical and emotional toll cancer puts on a family, and provides a high level of care and compassion.
"My goal is to help them beat cancer, so they can live long and fulfilling lives," Lancelot said.
