March 10, 2022
MARSHFIELD – Marshfield Clinic Health System will host the 2022 Behavioral Health Community Conference with the focus of “How to Help Children of Different Ages Understand and Cope with Death and Dying" led by retired Pediatric Psychologist Dr. Michael D. Miller.
Whether a family member, friend or even a family pet, it's important that children of all ages understand and cope with death and dying. Miller will provide guidance on when, what and how to talk to your children about death and dying. He also will discuss at what age and how to prepare children to visit a person who is nearing death, and when they should attend activities such as a wake, funeral and graveside services. Miller's goal is to share information on how you can help your children and family move forward emotionally from this potentially traumatic event.
An onsite presentation will not take place this year. Instead, people can participate by registering for the free event by April 22. Participants then will receive a link to Dr. Miller's presentation that they can view April 28-July 31.
