Birth center location

You can easily find us by coming through Marshfield Medical Center–Eau Claire’s main entrance and going up to third floor. Because we have a security system in place for the safety of our families, visitors are only allowed into the birth center with staff assistance.

Visitor Guidelines

During labor and delivery, you may have two (2) support people, who must remain the same. Open visitation is available during stable pre- and post-delivery for visitors who are 12 years and older. Children under 12 years must be siblings of your newborn. No children can stay overnight.

A doula is not counted as one of your two support people. If you have a doula as part of your birth plan, please provide certification to your admitting nurse. Your doula may stay with you during labor, delivery, and recovery (as desired).

For the safety of our families, visitors showing signs of illness must stay home.

Lactation Services

Here, you get direct access to an International Board-Certified Lactation Counselor® (IBCLC®) – an expert in breastfeeding and lactation education. Additionally, there are many Registered Nurses who are Certified Lactation Counselors (CLC®) and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) available for lactation support in the hospital (Eau Claire) or medical offices (Chippewa Falls or Eau Claire).

Childbirth Education Classes

Childbirth education and breastfeeding classes help you prepare for your baby’s arrival. Call 715-858-4646 to register for a class.

Marshfield Children's

After delivery, a Marshfield Children’s pediatrician will examine your baby. Our Chippewa Valley pediatricians are part of a larger pediatric specialty network backed by the region's only dedicated pediatric hospital, Marshfield Children's Hospital.

Perinatal Mental Health Clinic

Expecting and postpartum mothers sometimes experience anxiety or depression. Our Perinatal Mental Health Clinic is a specialized service that helps manage these illnesses and related concerns.
