Marshfield Clinic Area of Greatest Need Fund: This fund is used for priority areas of need throughout the Marshfield Clinic system for patient care initiatives, research and education.

Angel Funds

  • General Angel Fund: Provides financial support to patients in need for non-medical expenses such as travel, heat/fuel, mortgage/rent, etc.

  • Bardet-Biedl Syndrome Angel Fund: Provides financial support to BBS families receiving care at Marshfield Clinic Health System. Fund may be used for travel assistance, such as gas cards or hotel stays; specialized equipment; supplies; non-medical expenses and more.

  • Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Special Needs Angel Fund: Provides assistance including prescriptions, DME, transportation, etc., to pediatric patients/families in financial need.

  • Compassionate Care Angel Fund​ - Marshfield Medical Center: Provides assistance including prescriptions, gas, lodging and transportation to adult MMC patients with primary focus to discharge patient.

  • Compassionate Care – Eau Claire Angel Fund: Provides assistance including prescriptions, gas, lodging and transportation to adult MMC Eau Claire patients with primary focus to discharge patient.

  • Compassionate Care – Weston Angel Fund: Provides assistance including prescriptions, gas, lodging and transportation to adult MMC patients with primary focus to discharge patient.

  • Catherine Fonti Angel Fund: Provides financial support to ensure patients in financial need have access to mammograms or other breast cancer screenings.

  • Rice Lake Hospice Angel Fund:​ Provides financial support for non-medical needs/life necessities to Hospice patients who are experiencing financial hardship.

  • Oncology Patient Care Angel Fund: Provides financial support for non-medical needs/life necessities to oncology patients who are experiencing financial hardship.

  • HOPE Fund: Provides financial assistance for non-medical needs to employees experiencing a medical crisis.

  • Multiple Sclerosis Patient Care Angel Fund: Provides financial support to multiple sclerosis patients for medical supplies, equipment or other needs.

  • Krause Family Pediatric Cancer Angel Fund (and Endowment): Provides financial support to pediatric oncology families in need, including gas cards, housing expenses, groceries and other basic needs.

  • Neal Family Pediatric Diabetes Angel Fund: Provides financial support to families whose children are living with Type 1 Diabetes, including gas cards, equipment, pumps, testing supplies, diabetes camps and more.

  • Pediatric Angel Fund: Provides non-medical expenses to families of children impacted by illness or disease, including life necessities like groceries, nutrition, clothing, gas cards or other needs.

Heart Care and Research

  • Cardiology Research

  • Endowments: Cardiology Distinguished Physician/Scientist – Seubert, Cardiology Research - Robert E. & Patricia Schreiner Naegele

  • Heart Care: Supports heart care and cardiology services system wide including equipment, patient amenities, educational materials, support services and other needs to provide comprehensive heart care.

  • Heart, Lung and Blood Research: This fund provides support for research that aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment options for heart, lung and blood diseases. Funding is used to support clinical trials in heart, lung and blood related illnesses. The fund is also used to support internal pilot studies. Researchers may for funding to support their project in heart, lung, or blood diseases.

  • Respiratory Therapy: Provides respiratory therapy services for cardiology patients.

Community

  • Integrative Wellness Medicine Program: Provides resources and support needed to facilitate an integrative wellness program.

  • Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth: Community partnership to reduce and prevent alcohol and drug use.

  • MCHS Arts Programs: Supports the needs of MCHS Art Programs​.

  • Social Emotional Learning SEL: Social Emotional Learning (SEL) groups, piloted at Youth Net, are being expanded into rural underserved communities for children experiencing mental illness, behavioral issues or trauma histories. The group focuses on identifying and labeling emotions, self- regulation skills, and creating a plan for social awareness. Founded by Drs Schulein and Offenwanger, the program aims to train school guidance counselors to implement the program at their schools during after school programs.

Education

  • Endowments: Fritz Wenzel Conference, Mary Ann Wenzel Nursing Education, Medical Director of Education, Scientific Seminars – Ben & Ruth Lawton, Stevens Obstetric Education, Thomas Nikolai Family, Residents Clinical Research, Dermatology Residency – Dr. William F. Schorr, Clinical Research - Dr. Dean T. Stueland

  • General Education Fund: Supports community, provider and staff education for better patient care.

  • Dental Residency Education Fund: Supports developing, delivery and maintenance of dental residency program.

  • Dermatology Residency Fund: Provides funding for dermatology residency education.

  • Internal Medicine Residents Educational Resource Fund: Provides funding for internal medicine residency.

  • Resident Research: Funds resident research programs

  • BSN Nursing Education: Supports Division of Education by providing funding for tuition reimbursement to existing employees working toward their BSN.

  • Fritz Wenzel Science Conference: Support will provide lectures, demonstrations, hands-on workshops and tours developed to satisfy every scientific interest in the healthcare field.

  • Marshfield Clinic Dental/Oral Health Area of Greatest Need
  • Palliative Medicine Fellowship: Supports the palliative medicine fellowship program education needs.

  • Pharmacy Student Education: Fund is used to support pharmacy student needs during internship rotations at MCHS locations. Needs include housing costs, stipends, and other educational support needs.

  • School of Radiography: Funds the school of radiography.

  • Student Education Programs: Supports Division of Education student learning programs by providing resources needed to educate learners coming to Marshfield Clinic.

  • Simulation Lab: Provides equipment and educational opportunities through the Simulation Lab for employees and providers at Marshfield Clinic Health System.

Mental Health Care and Research

  • Mental Health: Funds mental health awareness programs, resources and awareness.

  • Mental Health First Aid: A program of the National Farm Medicine Center, the MHFA certification program will train and prepare community members to recognize and assist farmers experiencing a mental health crisis.

  • Mental Health Patient Navigator: The Mental Health Patient Navigator serves as a single point of contact for referring physicians, patients, families, and caregivers to guide and provide resources and assistance with accessing clinical and supportive care services offered within the Health System and the community.

  • Mental Health Research: Supports research into mental health programs.

National Farm Medicine Center (Agricultural Health and Safety Research)

  • Agricultural Rescue Training (ART): NFMC's Agricultural Rescue Training Program (ART) will train and prepare first responders, firefighters and rescue personnel on specialized farm rescue techniques.​

  • Endowments: NFMC Research Chair - Dr. Dean Emanuel, Steve J. Miller

  • National Farm Medicine Center Research: Funds laboratory, behavioral and clinical research with the goal of bettering human health and safety for agricultural life.

  • Mike Biadasz Farm Safety and Education Memorial Fund: The NFMC in conjunction with the Center for Community Outreach at Marshfield Clinic are working alongside the Biadasz family to improve the health of farmers throughout Wisconsin. This program will administer a gas monitor rebate program and promote awareness and education to assure farmers are more safe and better informed.

  • Rollover Protective Structures: Provides rebates for rollover protective structures on tractors for agricultural workers.

  • Veterans to Farmers Research Fund: Provides support for research in the veterans to farmers program.

Cancer Care and Research

  • Breast Cancer Research: This fund provides support for research that aims to improve the diagnosis, treatment options and recovery process for breast cancer. Funding is used to support clinical trials for breast cancer patients across the system and internal pilot studies. Researchers may apply for funding to support their project in breast cancer.

  • Cancer Care (Eau Claire, Marshfield, Rice Lake, Stevens Point, Wausau/Weston, WI Rapids): Provides for patient comfort items, survivorship efforts, resources and educational materials, CLIMB and other needs. Excludes provision for direct support to patients, as the Angel Funds are dedicated for this purpose. Gifts to all of Marshfield Clinic Health System Cancer Care funds are always 100% designated to the fund of choice.

  • Cancer Research: This fund provides support in several areas impacting work in cancer research. Our research coordinators rely on the support to assist in our cancer drug trials program, providing patients access to state-of-the-art treatment options. Dollars are also used to support research aimed at finding better ways to diagnose, prevent and treat all types of cancer.

  • Cattails Place: To provide temporary lodging for oncology patients and families/caregivers undergoing the following treatments: Transplant, Collection, most oncology surgical cases, Moh's procedures, breast reconstruction. 

  • Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery (CLIMB): The CLIMB program helps kids find the courage to deal with cancer in their families. Support provides the children with resource materials, craft supplies and meals.

  • Endowment - Oncology Distinguished Physician/Scientist - Tom & Sally Ebenreiter: The Distinguished Physician/Scientist in Oncology is awarded to the director of Oncology Research. The earnings from the endowment are used by the physician/scientist to support his or her research in oncology.

  • Horizons Gardens – Minocqua: Funds support the creation and maintenance of the Horizon Gardens at the Minocqua Center.

  • Khan Memorial Oncology Patient Education: Provides educational resources for cancer patients, families and caregivers.

  • Lung Cancer Patient Care Fund: Provides comfort items, education and resources to lung cancer patients.

  • Man To Man Prostate Cancer Education & Support Program: Supports the prostate cancer support group services by funding meeting expenses, speaker fees, promotional materials and other support service needs.

  • Mobile Health Screening Program: Funds mobile health screening program including equipment, technology and new units to deliver mammograms and preventative care to rural areas.

  • Pink Ribbon Cancer Survivor's Garden: Supports the creation and maintenance of the Pink Ribbon Cancer Survivors Garden at the Wisconsin Rapids Center.

  • Women’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery (WINGS) Program (System-​wide, Stevens Point, Marshfield): Cancer survivorship program that offers holistic care for adult patients throughout their cancer treatment. Aspects of the care include resources, patient amenities, support services, educational events, library support, as well as other patient and family support needs. WINGS helps survivors deal with the complexities of their lives from the time of diagnosis, through treatment and the balance of their lives.

  • Women Living with Hope: Breast cancer support group promoting survivorship. Donations fund meeting expenses, speaker fees, promotional materials and other support service needs.

Patient Care

  • Patient care (Central, East, Northwoods, Northwest, West): Provides patient care needs include comfort items, equipment, educational resources or other patient care priority needs.

  • Marshfield Medical Center-Eau Claire: Supports t​he Eau Claire hospital and cancer center including patient amenities and program support.

  • Marshfield Medical Center-Marshfield: Supports equipment, patient comfort items, resources and education at MMC Marshfield.​​

  • Marshfield Medical Center – Ladysmith:  Supports MMC Ladysmith including capital, patient amenities and program support.

  • Marshfield Medical Center – Park Falls:  Provides patient care, equipment, patient education and amenities to MMC - Park Falls

  • Marshfield Medical Center – Park Falls Hospice:  Provides comfort items, equipment, educational resources, and other priorities needed to provide care to patients being treated at Park Falls Hospice.

  • Marshfield Medical Center–Rice Lake: Supports MMC Rice Lake including patient amenities and program support (previously named Lakeview Medical Center Area of Greatest Need).

  • Marshfield Medical Center-Rice Lake Hospice: Supports hospice services with MMC Rice Lake.

  • Marshfield Medical Center – Stevens Point:  Provides patient care, equipment, patient education and amenities to MMC - Stevens Point

  • Marshfield Clinic Family Health Centers: Support patient amenities in family health centers.

  • Ambulatory Surgery Center: Funds will be used to create waiting areas and prep and recovery rooms used by children and families, including murals, furniture, toys and resources.

  • Bardet-Biedl Syndrome Patient Care: Supports Bardet-Biedl Syndrome (BBS) patient care clinics by providing meals, resources, lodging, distraction items, speakers or patient needs.

  • BBS Camp: Supports sending BBS patients to Lions Camp.

  • Bereavement Services: Supports bereavement and coping programs as well as survivorship.

  • Enhance Patient Experience with Music​: Supports Music Therapy services at Marshfield Medical Center-Marshfield to aid in patient healing.

  • Palliative Care: Support comfort-focused care, programming or other resources for patients and families cared for by the palliative medicine staff at Marshfield Clinic Health System.

  • Stroke Support: Supports Surviving Stroke Together, the Marshfield Area Stroke Support group, sponsored by the in-patient rehab unit of Marshfield Medical Center - Marshfield.

Pediatric Care and Research

  • Marshfield Child Advocacy Center: Funds the needs of the Marshfield Child Advocacy Center supporting children suffering from abuse or neglect including equipment, resources, materials, support services and education.

  • Child Abuse & Neglect Projects - East Division: Supports the needs of the Child Advocacy Center - East Division, including equipment, resources, and support services.

  • Child Health and Development Research: This fund is used to support internal pilot studies. Researchers may apply for funding to support their project in child health and development.

  • Child Life Program: Funds the Child Life Program, which utilizes specially-trained professionals who use medical play and support to help children cope with the hospital experience.

  • Children’s Hospital Campaign: Provides support for every aspect of the Marshfield Children's Hospital capital campaign.​

  • Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Marshfield Children’s Hospital: Donations to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Marshfield Children’s Hospital help fund the Child Life program, specialized equipment, comfort items and more.

  • Children's Oncology Group/Pediatric Cancer Research: Funds cancer research in pediatrics and supports partnership with the Children’s Oncology Group for new cancer protocols.

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Marshfield Children’s Hospital: Supports specialized equipment, comfort items, family resources and more in the NICU.

  • Pediatric Cardiology: Supports the pediatric cardiology program by providing patient-friend treatment and exam rooms, equipment, resources or other support needs.

  • Pediatric Endocrinology: Fund will provide indirect support to patients by supplying equipment and resources to the department aimed at enhancing the patient's experience and improving patient care.

  • Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Marshfield Children’s Hospital: Provides specialized equipment, comfort items, family resources and more in the PICU.

  • Pediatric Needs – Marshfield Medical Center: Supports Marshfield Medical Center pediatrics department by providing resources for equipment, patient amenities, resource materials, distraction items or other items/resources needed to care for children.

  • Pediatric Oncology Fund: Fund to support Marshfield Clinic Health System Pediatric Oncology, to assist with the delivery of care and support to pediatric oncology patients. This fund will help with the creation of a hematology/oncology patient and family waiting area, providing amenities, decor, and other comfort or educational items for the room. The fund will assist with: distraction items, treasure chest gifts, support/educational resources and survivorship efforts.

  • Pediatric Sedation: Provides special sedation needs for children to reduce risk.

  • Pediatrics – General Treatment Rooms: Funds will be used to transform general treatment rooms in pediatrics in the Marshfield Center into patient-friendly spaces, including murals, equipment and amenities.

  • Reach Out and Read (Central, Chippewa Falls, East, Eau Claire, North, Rice Lake): Funds books for the Reach Out and Read program, providing age-appropriate books to families to encourage literacy.

  • Youth Net: Funds Marshfield-based after-school program four youth.

Research

  • Endowments: Cancer Research, Clinical Research Chair, Gwen D. Sebold, Laird Center, Mary Jane and Dale Seif, Marshfield Clinic Research Fund, Oncology Distinguished Physician/Scientist – Tom & Sally Ebenreiter, Summer Student Research Internship Program – Emilie Verch, Summer Student Research, Infectious Disease, Human Genetics Research Chair - Dr. James Weber

  • General Medical Research: Provides support to the greatest needs in medical research in Marshfield Clinic Research Institute to improve the future of health care.

  • Alcohol and Drug Research: Supports substance abuse research.

  • Allergy and Infectious Diseases Research: Basic and applied research is conducted to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.

  • Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Disease Research: Funds research into arthritis, musculoskeletal and skin disease.

  • BBS Research: This fund provides support for research into this rare disease, including the operations of the Clinical Registry Investigating Bardet-Biedl Syndrome (CRIBBS).

  • Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Disease Research: This fund is used to support internal pilot studies. Researchers may apply for funding to support their project in diabetes, digestive and kidney disease.

  • Gwen D. Sebold Research Fellowship: Funds an annual fellowship award, and related expenses of such, to be given to one Marshfield Clinic physician, scientist or staff member employed by Marshfield Clinic in recognition of his or her research efforts.

  • Obstetrics/Gynecology Research: Supports research into obstetrics and gynecology to support the future of women’s health.

  • Summer Research Internship Program: This program is funded entirely through philanthropy. SRIP is a 12-week internship available to undergraduate and graduate students. SRIP funds cover the cost of administration of the program as well as the cost for each student, which includes housing and a stipend. Students work with a researcher, who mentors them throughout the research project.

  • Dental and Craniofacial Research: Supports dental and craniofacial research.

  • Neurological and Stroke Research: This fund supports Marshfield Clinic research in the areas of Alzheimer's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Stroke and Neurological Sciences.

  • Institute for Oral and Systemic Health: Supports dental and systemic health research.

  • Precision Medicine/Human Genetics Research: This fund is used to support internal pilot studies. Researchers may apply for funding to support their project in genetics research.
